Vespas Mymarommatidae são consideradas raras em diversas regiões do mundo, sendo conhecidos, até o momento, apenas quatro exemplares do Brasil. Este estudo teve o objetivo de investigar sua abundância e distribuição em Mata Atlântica de Aracruz, Espírito Santo, e no Cerrado de três localidades do Tocantins. Foram encontrados 84 exemplares no Espírito Santo e 85 no Tocantins. Isto integra o cerrado do Tocantins à área de distribuição dessas vespas, ampliando seu registro no Brasil, além de corresponder à coleta mais abundante de indivíduos dessa família em nível mundial.

Mymarommatidae wasps are considered rare worldwide with only four individuals found in Brazil. This study aimed to investigate their abundance and distribution in the Atlantic Forest of Aracruz (Espírito Santo State), and in the Cerrado (three localities of the Tocantins State). Eighty four and 85 individuals were found in Espírito Santo and Tocantins, respectively. These results integrate the Cerrado of Tocantins to the distribution area of these wasps, increasing their register in Brazil. Besides, it shows the highest number of individuals collected of this family in the world.
