Este trabalho teve como objetivo comparar as categorias de florestas estabelecidas nos Códigos florestais de 1934 e 1965. A metodologia compreendeu levantamentos em ambos os Códigos Florestais, respectivamente o Decreto 23.793/34 e a Lei 4.771/65. Levantou-se todas as áreas criadas na esfera federal (Código de 1934). Finalmente, procedeu-se a comparação das categorias de florestas de ambos os Códigos. Concluiu-se que duas das categorias definidas no Código de 1934 encontram correspondência no Código de 1965.

This work had as objective to compare forest established categories on 1934 and 1965 Forest Codes. The methodology covered a survey on both Forest Codes, respectively the Decree 23.793/34 and the Law 4.771/65. All the created federal areas on the 1934 Code were surveyed. Finally the comparison of the categories of forests of both Codes was processed. It was concluded that two categories defined on the 1934 Code (Protected Forest and Yield Forest) meet correspondence on the 1965 Code (Permanent Preservation Areas, and Natives and Planted Production Areas).
