Resumo

O xydia vesulia (Cramer, 1779) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) é considerada uma das principais pragas florestais, por ser importante desfolhadora de Eucalyptus spp. A biologia desta espécie foi estudada a 25 ± 1 ºC de temperatura, 70 ± 3 % de UR e 14 h de fotoperíodo. A duração do primeiro, segundo, terceiro, quarto, quinto, sexto e sétimo estádios, o período larval, de pré-pupa e de pupa, a longevidade e o ciclo de vida de O. vesulia, foi de 4,15, 3,98, 3,72, 4,29, 5,22, 7,65, 8,00, 29,21, 2,05, 13,65, 14,61 e 60,18 dias, respectivamente. A razão sexual foi de 0,44; a fecundidade de 1970,96 ovos; a fertilidade de 961,44 ovos; a taxa de fertilidade de 48,78 % e o número de posturas por fêmea de 5,30.

Abstract

Oxydia vesulia (Cramer, 1779) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) is considered one of the most important defoliator of Eucalyptus. Development was studied at temperature of 25 ± 1 oC, 70 ± 3 % RH and 14 L: 10D, The duration of the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh stage was 4.15, 3.98, 3.72, 4.29, 5.22, 7.65, 8.00, 29.21, 2.05, 13.65, 14.61and 60.18 days, respectively, The sex ratio was 0.44; the fecundity was 1970.96; the fertility was 961.44 eggs; the fertility rate was 48.78% and the mean egg masses per female 5.30.
